Zachary Gelmon

(RP-Q), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I’m Zachary Gelmon, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). For the past three years, I’ve worked with adults across Ontario navigating trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, porn & sex addiction and personal growth.

Since co-facilitating an ongoing men’s circle in 2023, I’ve developed a passion for supporting brothers, sons, fathers, and husbands. There’s a growing need for men to have a space where honesty, vulnerability, and imperfection are welcome – a place where it’s okay to be wrong, to change your mind, to gain new insight, to be challenged, supported, and to explore your deepest emotions and beliefs.

The aim of my practice is to help men show up in the world and in their relationships with greater connection to love, courage, compassion, and awareness.

I take an integrative approach to therapy because there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, art and music therapy, and strength-based practices, I tailor our work to fit your goals, personality, and pace. Together, we’ll find what makes therapy meaningful and effective for you.

My practice offers individual counselling and men’s circles (groups of 8–9).

Inclusive Practice

My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and welcoming of women, non-traditional relationships, and gender-diverse identities. I’m also a friend and ally to the BIPOC community, and I have experience working with clients from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. I strive to create a therapy space where you can explore your culture and experiences without fear of judgment or minimization. If you were born in the Milky Way, you are welcome here.

Many men experience anxiety, stress, and depression differently than they expect. These mental health concerns may show up as irritability, emotional withdrawal, sleep difficulties, relationship struggles, or feeling overwhelmed by career pressures. Therapy for men provides a safe space to explore these challenges, develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term mental well-being.

Yes. Many men struggle with sexual shame, compulsive pornography use, or concerns about intimacy, but often feel uncomfortable discussing these issues. I can help you understand unhelpful patterns, build self-awareness, and address the underlying emotional, relational, or trauma-related factors contributing to porn addiction.

Absolutely. Therapy can play a crucial role in helping male survivors process past trauma and support recovery. Trauma can affect mental health, emotional regulation, self-worth, relationships, and daily life. Clients can work toward healing, reduce stress, and develop healthier coping strategies while moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
